Dot Wine Vineyards : Lyrik Vineyards
Lyrik Vineyard is owned by Richard Brand and was farmed by Lee Martinelli Jr. in the 2018 vintage. It’s planted to multiple Chardonnay and Pinot Noir clones (Dijon 115, 667, 777 & 828, and Pommard 5) and the fruit from these vines are featured in some of the best Russian River Valley still and sparkling wines.
The Huichica soil series of the Santa Rosa basin are not easy to farm, but in the hands of Lee Martinelli Jr. in 2018, for Dot they yielded super racy cherry-berry characters with lots of pretty aromatics and bright acidity.
Wine Enthusiast: Dot Wines 2018 Lyrik Vineyard
Dot Wines 2018 Lyrik Vineyard Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley)
Closed on the nose at first, this wine unfurls slowly in the glass to show grippy layers of dense blueberry and dark cherry. The texture becomes more crisp as it goes, revealing fresh acidity that complements deeper, darker elements of forest floor and black tea. VIRGINIE BOONE
